What are Pockets of Fat?

Pockets of fat, also known as localised fat or stubborn fat, refer to specific areas of the body where excess fat tends to accumulate. These areas can vary between individuals and are influenced by genetics, hormones, and lifestyle. Although this type of fat can seem stubborn, there are localised fat and pockets of fat treatments that are safe and effective.

Here are some common areas where people may experience pockets of fat:

  1. Abdomen: The stomach area is a common trouble spot for many individuals, where excess fat can accumulate, leading to the appearance of a belly.
  2. Hips and thighs: Fat deposits around the hips and thighs can create a pear-shaped body. This is particularly common in women due to hormonal factors.
  3. Love handles: are pockets of fat that form on the sides of the waist and are often resistant to diet and exercise.
  4. Back: Fat can accumulate in the upper and lower back areas, resulting in rolls or bulges that may be visible, especially when wearing tight clothing.
  5. Arms: Some people may have pockets of fat in the upper arms, commonly known as “bat wings,” which can be bothersome for individuals seeking a more toned appearance.
  6. Chest (in men): Men may experience fat accumulation in the chest area, resulting in gynecomastia or “man boobs.”

Pockets of Fat Treatment

It’s important to note that the body’s fat distribution is largely determined by genetics, and spot reduction (specifically targeting fat loss in certain areas) through exercise or diet alone is generally not possible. A balanced diet, regular exercise, and sometimes medical procedures like liposuction or non-invasive fat reduction treatments may be considered to reduce overall body fat and address pockets of fat. Consulting with a healthcare professional or a qualified fitness expert can provide personalised guidance based on individual goals and circumstances. Some effective and non-surgical treatments to target pockets of fat are:

Ultrasound Fat Cavitation

Ultrasound Fat Cavitation (Ultrasound Liposuction) is a non-surgical fat removal procedure, effective for pockets of fat, localised fat and stubborn fat treatment. A natural method, replacing traditional treatments such as tummy tucks and liposuction. There are no knives, anaesthesia, or surgery.

During Ultrasound Fat Cavitation, ultrasound technology sends a signal into the body using low-frequency sound waves without causing damage to other tissues or organs. A cavity is then formed in the fat cell, allowing fat to drain from the cell, turn into protein, then change to free fatty acids, moving to the liver and decay, then be removed from the body. Clients can expect a reduction of several centimetres in circumference after the first treatment.

Kalana Natural Rejuvenation Clinic is the leading skin clinic specialising in Ultrasound Fat Cavitation, located in Dee Why, Sydney.

Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing)

Another solution to treating pockets of fat, localised fat or stubborn fat, that even diet and exercise can’t seem to get rid of is cryolipolysis or fat freezing. The FDA approves Cryolipolysis to treat localised fat deposits beneath the skin—a natural way to get results without surgery or downtime.

Cryolipolysis uses temperature manipulation techniques proven to freeze away fat cells successfully and for good when applied correctly. During your consultation, we will discuss which areas you hope to sculpt and slim down.

At Kalana Natural Rejuvenation Clinic, we can safely provide stubborn fat and pockets of fat treatment in a non-surgical procedure. The most common stubborn areas for fat freezing are:  abdomen, hips / muffin top, thighs, flanks/ love handles, back / bra strap area, buttocks
